Stacy was last seen while visiting Yosemite National Park with her father and six others on July 25, 1981. The group reached a cluster of cabins designed for overnight stay at Sunrise High Sierra Camp, tied up their horses and went indoors to freshen up. Stacy changed clothes and left the cabin, carrying her camera, so she could photograph the lake.

Why is this a Mystery

Stacey Arras vanished seemingly before the group’s eyes. She walked down to a series of lakes taking photographs. As the trail took Stacey behind the treeline she was never seen again. Search dogs, helicopters, search and rescue professionals, and volunteers searched for Stacey for 9 days. She remains missing.

At odds with Federal information request laws, National Park officials have continued to deny requests for Stacey’s records adding to the mystery surrounding her case.
