Missy arrived at Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Texas at 4:20 AM. Her plans were to accommodate those who arrived early, a normal occurrence for two of her students, and to set up for the class. Unbeknownst to Missy, an intruder arrived over a half hour earlier with what appears to be the intention of murdering Missy Bevers.
At 3:45 AM, an unknown individual arrived through a side door where he or she used a pry bar to break glass and enter the church. The individual then spent time wondering the halls of the church, using a hammer to break glass out of a door, opening cabinets, and entering unlocked rooms. All this was done in a mostly nonchalant manner while wearing imitation police SWAT gear complete with helmet and head lamp. This disguise concealed the identity, race, and gender of the intruder. Police believe this is the murderer of Missy Bevers.
Between 4:35 AM and a first call to 911 at 5:00 AM, students found the slain body of Missy Bevers. Her cause of death is reported as consistent with puncture woods to the head and chest.

Why is this a Mystery
Missy Bevers was mostly likely killed by a masked intruder who wore police SWAT gear believed to be of imitation design. Coupled with the strangeness of the disguise, the actions of the intruder prior to Missy’s arrival, and the lack of obvious motive, this unsolved murder is indeed a mystery. Police question the intruder’s motive for robbery based on events prior to the discovery of Missy’s death; therefore, concluding the intruder’s presence at the church to be solely related to the murder of Missy Bevers. Last, according to CBS DFW News, exterior camers “weren’t functioning” the night of the attack.
I believe there are key facts to this murder. The intruder’s actions captured on camera indicate nervousness, or frustration, while waiting for Missy Bevers to arrive. Additionally, the manner of death, including the tools brought to the scene by the intruder, and the location of the body. These details are not fully disclosed to the public but do provide law enforcement with a clear picture of how those events unfolded.
